Gillespie Residence Hall and Student Center is the first student housing facility to be added to Harris-Stowe State University, St. Louis, since its founding 150 years ago.

Project File: Remembering 9-11
The Todd M. Beamer Student Center on the campus of Wheaton College, Wheaton, Ill., was named for a 1991 graduate who became a hero when he led a group of passengers aboard the ill-fated United Airlines Flight 93, which was hijacked by terrorists on Sept. 11, 2001.

Working it Out
Today's student recreation centers are a far cry from their predecessors. The typical student recreation center built during the 1960s and 1970s was a massive, windowless concrete structure.
