Dallas Superintendent Heads to Cobb County, Ga.

The leader of one of the nation’s largest school systems is leaving to take a similar job in another of the nation’s largest districts.

Michael Hinojosa has decided to leave his job as district superintendent in Dallas, the nation’s 14th-largest school system, to become superintendent in the Cobb County (Ga.) district, the nation’s 26th-largest district.

Hinojosa has been superintendent of the Dallas Independent School District for six years. He is expected to begin work in Cobb County next month.

Cobb County has about 106,000 students, compared with more than 150,000 in the Dallas system.
