Civil rights group says school system has failed to provide public records requested

The Rhode Island affiliate of the American Civil Liberties Union says in a lawsuit that the Pawtucket school district has ignored the state’s open records law and failed to provide requested public records. The Providence Journal reports that the ACLU asked Pawtucket in October to provide records on its policy for waiving graduation requirements for certain students. The ACLU contends that Pawtucket did not respond to the request or a subsequent follow-up letter.
