State attorney general sues for-profit investment school over alleged false claims

The New York State attorney general’s office alleges in a lawsuit that Trump University, Donald J. Trump’s for-profit investment school, has engaged in illegal business practices. The New York Times reports that the lawsuit seeks restitution of at least $40 million. It accuses Trump and others of running the school as an unlicensed educational institution from 2005 to 2011 and making false claims about its classes.
