Penn State will spend $8.5 million to upgrade campus Wi-Fi

Officials say the number of devices using campus Wi-Fi has doubled in the last 15 months.

Penn State University is planning to spend $8.5 million to overhaul Wi-Fi coverage on campus. The Centre Daily Times reports that the improvements will extend wireless service to the campus’s residence halls and fill in areas where coverage is spotty. University officials say the number of devices connecting to the Penn State Wi-Fi system has doubled in the past 15 months.
