Red brick schoolhouse gets new life in North Dakota

A red brick schoolhouse in North Dakota that was closed in 2000 will come back to life in the fall, The Grand Forks Herald says. The building, which opened in about 1920, is attached to the newer Midkota Elementary School building in Binford, N.D., through an enclosed lower-level walkway. Reopening the red schoolhouse will help alleviate crowding sparked by enrollment growth in the Midkota District. Lack of space forced the district to move this year’s pre-kindergarten class, with more than a dozen students, to a Lutheran church.
