Teacher who killed himself was subject of police investigation

A teacher who committed suicide at a Catholic high school in Niles, Ill., was being investigated by police for allegedly inappropriate communications with students. Niles-Morton Grove Patch reports that Richard Balentine, a department head at Notre Dame College Prep, was found dead Tuesday in his residence on the school's campus. He was living in what used to be priests' quarters at the school. A day earlier, police interviewed Balentine as part of the investigation.
