The Cypress-Fairbanks (Texas) district will receive $1.5 million over 10 years for the naming rights to its outdoor stadium.
The facility, situated in the district's Richard E. Berry Educational Support Center, is now known as the Cy-Fair FCU Stadium. The Cy-Fair Credit Union has agreed to pay the school system $150,000 a year for 10 years for the naming rights.
The 11,000-seat stadium is one of several venues at the Berry Center, which is is host to 1.5 million visitors annually for a broad range of athletic, educational and artistic events, the district says.
“The Berry Center is so much more than a sports stadium," says Cameron Dickey, president and CEO of Cy-Fair FCU. "It’s a centerpiece of our community and provides an important venue for local events that promote vitality and growth."
The school district says the naming agreement extends an existing relationship with the credit union. It has contributed more than $420,000 in direct support to district, and in 2013, Cy-Fair FCU launched the Community Only Better initiative, a 10-year pledge to invest $500,000 in programs and causes that enhance the local community.
