$112.5 million school bond proposal approved in Utica (Mich.) district

40 schools will receives repairs and upgrades

From The Detroit Free Press: The Utica (Mich.) Community School District has won approval of a $112.5 million bond proposal by just 21 votes out of more than 18,000 cast. The money is to help pay for remodeling, construction, equipment and technology, including a new media center for Utica High School.

ALSO...From The Detroit News: The East Detroit and the Redford Union districts also won approval of bond proposals.

EARLIER....From The Detroit News: The Utica (Mich.) Community School District, Macomb County's largest system, is asking residents to approve a $112 million bond issue to make repairs and upgrades to its 40 schools.The bond would provide new classroom technology and pay for building maintenance. Projects include paving, roofing, heating and cooling and security systems upgrades.
