Enrollment was too low to sustain separate operations
FromThe Baton Rouge Advocate: Two Catholic elementary schools in Baton Rouge, La., will merge this fall because of declining enrollment and lagging tuition, Catholic School Diocese officials say. St. Isidore School and St. Gerard Majella will become Redemptorist Elementary School and will open during the second week in August. Enrollment counts at the two separate schools were too low to remain viable. There are 139 students attending St. Isidore, and 187 students attending St. Gerard Majella.
