District also is laying off about 100 teachers because of budget cuts

Two elementary schools are closing in Lynn, Mass., as part of spending cuts that include laying off about 100 teachers. The closing of William R. Fallon Elementary School and Washington Community School will reduce the number of Lynn elementary schools to 16.
