District, Dwight D. Jones, the Colorado commissioner of education, Michael Hinojosa, school superintendent in Dallas. MARCH 2010...from The Las Vegas Sun: Walt Rulffes, superintendent of the Clark County (Nev.) School District, has announced that he will retire in August, after five years at the helm of the nation’s fifth-largest district. He was chosen as superintendent in January 2006, after serving about six months as interim chief following the resignation of Carlos Garcia. Rulffes previously was the district’s chief financial officer.
