500 jobs are at risk in Rochester (N.Y.) district School system faces a $60 million budget gap for 2009-10

The Rochester (N.Y.) School District is telling employees to brace for up to 500 job cuts if the district doesn't get more state funding or find alternative savings. Deputy Superintendent for Administration John Scanlan says the district faces a $60.8 million budget gap for the 2009-10 school year, $8 million more than district officials predicted in December.
