7th grader steers bus to safety after driver passes out

Student at Milton, Wash., middle school springs to action in emergency

From The Tacoma News-Tribune: A quick-acting middle school student in Milton, Wash., guided his school bus safely off the road after the driver had a medical emergency. With the driver passed out, seventh-grader Jeremy Wuitschick grabbed the wheel, steered the bus to the curb near the entrance of Surprise Lake Middle School and did some chest compressions on the driver. The driver was taken to a hospital, where his condition was described as grave.
