Chicago proposes high-tech security system for 14 high schools

From The Chicago Tribune: Chicago school district officials want to spend $7 million for a state-of-the-art high-tech security system at 14 high schools. They say the expenditure is necessary because security is a top priority. The proposed security system is similar to one installed at Fenger High School after the beating death of a student in 2009. Footage from up to 80 high-definition cameras could be monitored by district officials and will be fed to a nearby police station.
