Rights group sues Nassau County district, which won't let club be formed

The American Civil Liberties Union of Florida has sued Nassau County Public Schools to force the district to allow students to form a Gay-Straight Alliance on campus. Students tried to form the club at Yulee Middle last year, and at Yulee High School this year, but the district refused the requests. The students say they want to form the club in part because other students have threatened to beat them up. The alliance is dedicated to ending bullying and harassment against students who are gay or perceived to be gay.
