Loss of apartments could hurt enrollment in Texas district

The redevelopment of aging apartment complexes in Addison, Texas, is a double-edged sword. The economic activity is good for the construction industry. But the shops, offices and homes that eventually will replace the apartments probably will bring many fewer school-age children. And that has consequences for Carrollton-Farmers Branch district, which depends on student attendance for state funding.
