Allen (Texas) district wins approval of $119.4 million bond

Performing arts auditorium will be built on high school campus


From The Allen American: Voters have approved the $119.4 million dollar bond proposed by the Allen (Texas) school district. The bond revenue will pay for the construction of a new auditorium, a multipurpose stadium and a service center. The auditorium will seat 1,500 and open in 2011. Allen High School does not have an auditorium or performing arts space on its campus. The high school has about 3,800 students and more than 3,000 students in grades six through 12 are enrolled in fine arts programs.
