Altering school bus schedules can save funds, but disrupt family schedules

From The St. Paul Pioneer Press: Rejiggering bus routes can save school districts hundreds of thousands of dollars, an enticing way to tighten the budget without touching the classroom. But the changes sometimes are delayed until absolutely necessary because angry parents balk. South Washington County (Minn.) Schools changed start and end times for elementary and middle schools, as well as area private schools to save $480,000 a year.
