Charter group sues Arizona over funding

Sep 16, 2009 12:48 PM

From The Arizona Republic: Arizona's leading charter-school advocacy group is suing to force the state to equalize funding going to all public schools, charter and district. The suits, filed on behalf of families by the Arizona Charter Schools Association, contend that the state's funding system violates the Arizona Constitution, which mandates that the state provide all students with a uniform public-school education. Instead, the families assert that an outdated formula leads to unequal funding of schools.
