Arlington (Texas) district set to name new superintendent

Hector Montenegro, who is expected to be named school superintendent in the Arlington (Texas) district, vastly improved the Ysleta school district in El Paso, but hasn't been able to muster majority support on a newly configured school board, Ysleta officials say. Arlington officials say the political skirmishes in Ysleta pale in comparison with Montenegro's track record of improving school performance and getting voter approval for bond proposals.
