Atlanta proposes closing 13 schools

Capacity of system is 60,000 students, but enrollment is only 47,000

From The Atlanta Journal-Constitution: Atlanta School Superintendent Erroll Davis is recommending closing 13 schools and redrawing school attendance zones across the school district. Davis says the closings are necessary because the district has classroom space for 60,000 students, but its enrollment has fallen to only 47,000.
