Professor says gunmen target schools to inflict the most pain

From Time Magazine: Schools seem to be an unusually common target of those carrying out mass homicides, writes Christopher Ferguson, associate professor of psychology and criminal justice at Texas A&M International University. Why do angry men (and an occasional woman) so often target innocent children who have done them no wrong? “These perpetrators have lashed out against society in the most vicious way possible, inflicting the most pain that they could. That is the point of targeting a school.”
