Report says office is failing to fulfill its oversight function for school construction spending

From California Watch: The office that administers school construction bond funds in California is struggling to fulfill its oversight role and routinely ignores its internal oversight policies and the requirements to audit projects, a state Department of Finance audit has found. The highly critical report suggests that the Office of Public School Construction may have improperly awarded millions to school districts and ignored possible instances of misspending.
