Prison sentence in fatal Baltimore middle school shooting

From The Baltimore Sun: A Baltimore middle-school student who killed another student in 2008 has been sentenced to 50 years in prison, with all but 20 years of the term suspended. Defendant Timothy Oxendine turned 16 this month. He pleaded guilty to stabbing 15-year-old Markel Williams three times in the stairwell of William H. Lemmel Middle School. The defense argued that Williams was bullying his attacker, a former friend, but the victim's family said they had been fighting over a girl.
