New schools unveiled in Bay-Waveland (Miss.) district

Sep 1, 2010 1:04 PM

From The Biloxi Sun-Herald: Nearly 1,000 students were on hand to mark the opening of two new schools in the Bay-Waveland (Miss.) School District. For the past five years all kindergarten through fifth-grade students have attended school in portable buildings. Hurricane Katrina washed away the schools — and most of the community buildings and homes in Waveland and Bay St. Louis. The two new schools feature state-of-the-art gymnasiums, cafeterias, libraries, music and art rooms and hundreds of spacious classrooms.
