Scientists question safety precautions at planned biosafety lab

A panel of scientists is urging the federal government to take a deeper look at the safety of a controversial biosafety research laboratory being built by Boston University. If the federal government heeds the advice from the National Research Council, the opening of the BU lab could be delayed significantly. The council sharply criticized the federal government in November for previous safety reviews of the BU project, branding them "not sound and credible."
