Bond defeat in South Dakota district

Dell Rapids district had sought $17.3 million for new facilities

TheDell Rapids (S.D.) School District has failed to win approval of a $17.3 million bond issue. The money would have paid for construction of a new elementary school and additions at the middle and high schools. The proposal won the support of 50.5 percent of those voting, but needed a 60 percent majority for approval.
