Bond election set for Grand Ledge (Mich.) district

$34.65 million would pay for technology upgrades and facility improvements

The Grand Ledge (Mich.) school board has voted to place two millage proposals before school district voters on May 8. Voters will be asked to approve issuing bonds in the amount of $34.65 million for a number of facility improvements, purchase of school buses and technology upgrades. The second bond question seeks $5.555 millionin bonds for improvements to athletic facilities, practice and playing fields. The proposals represent a scaled-back analysis of the district's "core" needs since the defeat of a $49.7 million millage in the May of last year.
