Voters OK $67 million plan for facility upgrades

From The Buffalo News: Voters in Niagara Falls, N.Y., have approved a proposition to borrow up to $67 million to renovate or enlarge the city's public school buildings and install artificial turf on the major athletic fields. The proposition is a scaled-down version of a $130 million borrowing proposal that was turned down by voters last year.

The "Inventing Tomorrow" initiative would enable the school system to make repairs, increase security, become more compliant with the Americans with Disabilities Act, improve energy efficiency, and provide artificial turf for athletic fields, the district says. The district reduced the size of its bond request after voters last year rejected a $130 million proposal.
