Lone Star system in Houston area gets authority for $420 million for projects

A $420 million bond issue for new buildings on each of the community college's five campuses in the Lone Star (Texas) College District has been approved.

FROM MARCH 2008: The Lone Star College System in Texas has scheduled a $420 million bond election for May 10. The bond would provide funding for new construction and renovations, including academic and administrative support facilities, parking and safety improvements, new performing arts facilities and a second University Center. The system recently changed its name from North Harris Montgomery Community College District and has five campuses in Harris and Montgomery counties. (Houston Chronicle)
