With bond requests repudiated, Michigan looks for other ways to address crowding

Plymouth-Canton district bond elections have failed three times in nine months

Now that voters have rejected another school-improvement bond issue, officials in the Plymouth-Canton (Mich.) Community Schools have turned their attention to other options to deal with overcrowding. Redistricting, portable classrooms and larger class sizes are being considered. But there's one option that's not under consideration: another bond request. Voters rejected a $62.1 million bond request Feb. 27, and last May, they snubbed two bond proposals totaling $120 million.
