Boston mayor warns that he'll cancel school bus contract unless service improves

Nov 2, 2011 5:09 PM

From The Boston Globe: Boston Mayor Thomas M. Menino is threatening to take the city’s $66 million transportation contract elsewhere if the private company that runs the public school buses does not immediately solve problems of chronic tardiness. Two months into the school year, one in four buses still are arriving late, some by nearly an hour. First Student, the company that provides bus service, and school officials have put together a tentative, six-point plan to get students to school on time.
