Broward County district bars construction company

District says Turner Construction won't be hired for projects for at least a year.

Turner Construction will be barred from taking on any more Broward County (Fla.) School District projects until at least July 2008, a district committee has decided. District officials are punishing the company after discovering that the Palm Beach County School District sued Turner in 2006—a legal wrangling that officials with the construction company did not report to Broward. School board rules require construction companies to divulge all of their recent lawsuits.
