New York City, Clark County (Nev.) district may have larger classes

Looming budget cuts could cause New York City schools to scale back its class size reduction goals next year--after failing to meet the ones set for this year. The goal this year for kindergarten through third grade was an average of 20.5 students per class; the current average is 21.4. Fourth through eighth grade classes were to be at 24.3 students but instead hover at 25.3. For high school, the goal was 23.9; the reality is 26.6 students.
