Concerns raised about protecting school buses from terrorism

North Carolina school transportation officials are concerned that the federal government isn't taking action to deter a terrorist strike against school buses. The federal Transportation Security Administration has yet to begin a safety assessment ordered by Congress in August. The agency has spent billions on security for ports, railways, motor coaches and the airline industry in the past six years, but school leaders say it has done little for the millions of children who ride buses.
