California district sacks facilities director

Hired earlier this year, Elk Grove administrator had questionable credentials on his resume.

The facilities director for the Elk Grove (Calif.) Unified School District has been fired after 13 weeks on the job. The school board dismissed Frank C. Harding Jr., associate superintendent for facilities and planning, after questions arose about his résumé, including the veracity of his academic degrees, which some education experts say may have come from a diploma mill.
