Grafton Elementary in Knights Landing has its last day

From The Sacramento Bee: Today is the last day for little Grafton Elementary in Knights Landing, Calif. The only school in the Yolo County hamlet of 1,100--home to farmworkers and retirees--is shutting its doors for good after a morning of packing up and goodbyes. In February, officials with the Woodland Joint Unified School District decided to shut down Grafton to help close a $7 million budget gap. Knights Landing residents protested but couldn't change the school board's decision.
