School plans $70 million to $100 million in construction over next decade
From The Portland Oregonian: A multimillion-dollar upgrade of Lewis & Clark College in Portland, Ore., will get under way this year. During the next 10 years, the liberal arts college expects to add a new science and math building, a student center and residence halls to its 137-acre campus. It also will renovate several existing buildings. Construction projects are expected to increase floor space from 1.24 million to nearly 2 million square feet, with costs estimated to run from $70 million to $100 million. Not all of the college's plans will move forward: Heeding neighborhood objections, the city of Portland has denied plans to construct off-campus graduate school housing and modernize athletic facilities.
