Rebuilding plans unveiled for Carlsbad (Calif.) High School
Apr 21, 2008 3:49 PM
Carlsbad (Calif.) High School will be completely transformed when its extreme makeover is finished in about 3½ years. The school was built 50 years ago for 2,400 students, but
has an
enrollment of about 3,000. The campus is a hodgepodge of buildings and
portable classrooms, and parking is inadequate. The $86 million
renovation project calls for rebuilding nearly the entire campus,
except for two gyms, administrative offices
and two relatively new classroom buildings.
The football field and track will be moved and modernized with
bleachers for 3,000 spectators. The architect is Perkins + Will.
