Texas district moves to fire superintendent accused of drunken driving

TheCarrollton-Farmers Branch (Texas) school board has voted to begin the process of firing Superintendent Annette Griffin, who is facing a charge of driving while intoxicated. She has been on voluntary paid leave since Oct. 9. Board members they learned of Griffin’s Aug. 21 arrest only after they approved her leave. She was arrested near Dallas-Fort Worth International Airport with a blood-alcohol level of 0.19, more than twice the legal limit. To read The Dallas Morning News article, click here.
