Catholic high school in Chicago is closing after 75 years

Dec. 10, 2012
St. Gregory was the Archdiocese's first co-ed high school

From The Chicago Sun-Times: St. Gregory the Great High School in Chicago’s Edgewater neighborhood will close at the end of the school year. The Catholic school, which opened in 1937, was the first co-ed high school in the Archdiocese of Chicago. The decision to close is because of financial difficulties and extensive building maintenance costs. The enrollment at St. Gregory this year is less than 100 students.
