FromThe St. Paul Pioneer Press: Despite a fundraising drive that gathered nearly $1 million in pledges to try to keep it open, St. Bernard's High School in St. Paul, Minn.,will close at the end of this school year. The decision to close it was announced Feb. 18, but since then, a group of parents, alumni and others tried to save the school. The group met with church officials last week to present its plan, but this week, the Archdiocese of St. Paul and Minneapolis reaffirmed the original decision.
