California district begins work on third middle school

From The Fresno Bee: The Central (Calif.) Unified School District in Fresno has broken ground on its third middle school. The $27 million school, which will house 1,050 seventh- and eighth-grade students, is expected to open in August 2011. The new middle school is part of the Deran Koligian Education Complex, which already houses Harvest Elementary School and Koligian Stadium. A high school also is planned for the center, to open in 2013.
