School system paid $995 for superintendent's office chair

Some people in the New Hampshire towns of Windham and Belham are upset that Franklyn Bass, superintendent of the Windham and Pelham (N.H.) districts, has purchased a $995 office chair. Critics of the purchase say it's unnecessary extravagance, but the superintendent's defenders say the cost was reasonable for an executive-style chair.
