Charter school enrollment tops 10,000 in Columbus, Ohio

Another 1,800 use vouchers to attend private schools

The number of children in theColumbus (Ohio) school district attending charter schools is projected to surpass 10,000 this school year. The Ohio Department of Education projects 10,273 students in the district's enrollment area will go to charter schools, and an additional 1,840 will attend private schools with vouchers. That's about 20 percent of the total student population.
