More student housing coming to downtown Chicago

From The Chicago Sun-Times: Loop University -- the nickname for a downtown Chicago area that 60,000 college students call home -- is getting a $130 million addition that will make it even more of a college town. Roosevelt University plans to build an academic and student center that will provide roughly 640 beds. The 32-story building is scheduled for a midsummer groundbreaking and a fall 2011 opening. In addition to the student housing, it will have science laboratories, lecture halls and a new home for Roosevelt's College of Business Administration. The first 10 floors will be dedicated to student space -- including cafeterias and meeting rooms, a fitness center and offices for admissions and financial aid.
