Chicago hires interim chief education officer

Barbara Byrd Bennett has been an administrator in Cleveland, New York City and Detroit districts

From The Chicago Tribune: The Chicago school system has hired Barbara Byrd Bennett, to take over as the district's chief education officer on an interim basis. Bennett will replace Noemi Donoso, who resigned and is leaving the post May 31. Bennett has served as chief executive officer for the Cleveland school district, a supervising superintendent in New York City schools, and an administrator in the Detroit school district.
