Chicago school system announces contingency plan if teachers strike

From The Chicago Tribune: The Chicago school system has a contingency plan in which 144 schools would provide limited services to students if a possible teachers strike becomes a reality next week. The district stressed that the facilities should be considered a last resort for parents who have exhausted all other means of finding suitable child care. About 85 percent of the district's students qualify for free and reduced-price lunch, so officials say they will provide two free meals a day at the facilities.
