Two school reform groups in Chicago are shutting down

The chorus of community activists In Chicago willing to criticize Mayor Richard Daley's school reform efforts has become a lot quieter because of the recent demise of two watchdog organizations. The Neighborhood Capital Budget Group and the Cross City Campaign for Urban School Reform, both founded during the first wave of Chicago school reform less than 20 years ago, are closing this month because they can't attract the foundation funding that once supported their community organizing initiatives.
